Publication Ethics

AMACCANG: Journal of Multidisciplinary Studies (AJMS) is a peer-reviewed, open-access scholarly journal published by Loroseng Ada' Research and Academic Center (LRAC). This statement outlines the ethical responsibilities of all parties involved in the publication process, including authors, editors, reviewers, editorial board members, and the publisher.

This publication ethics statement is based on the principles and best practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and serves as a guide for maintaining academic integrity, transparency, and scholarly excellence.


Ethical Guidelines for Journal Publication

The publication of an article in AJMS contributes to the advancement of multidisciplinary knowledge and scholarly communication. Published articles reflect the quality of the research conducted by authors and the institutions supporting them.

AJMS is committed to ensuring that all editorial decisions are based solely on academic merit, originality, scientific rigor, and relevance to the journal's focus and scope. Commercial interests, sponsorship, or other external influences shall not affect editorial decisions.


Allegations of Research Misconduct

Research misconduct includes, but is not limited to:

  • Fabrication of data
  • Falsification of research findings
  • Citation manipulation
  • Plagiarism
  • Duplicate publication
  • Authorship manipulation
  • Ethical violations in research involving humans or animals

When allegations of misconduct arise, the Editorial Board will investigate the matter in accordance with COPE guidelines and established scholarly publishing standards.

If misconduct is identified before publication, the manuscript will be rejected. If misconduct is discovered after publication, AJMS may issue:

  • Expressions of concern
  • Retractions
  • Retractions and replacements

All investigations will be conducted fairly, objectively, confidentially, and transparently.

Authors accused of misconduct will be given an opportunity to respond before any final decision is made.


Publication Decisions

The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for deciding which submitted manuscripts will be published.

Editorial decisions are based on:

Editors may consult members of the Editorial Board and external reviewers when making publication decisions.

Confidentiality

Editors and editorial staff must not disclose any information regarding submitted manuscripts to anyone other than:

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest

Editors shall not use unpublished information from submitted manuscripts for personal research or personal gain without the author's explicit written consent.

Editors must recuse themselves from handling manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest.


Duties of Reviewers

Contribution to Editorial Decisions

Peer review assists editors in making publication decisions and helps authors improve the quality of their manuscripts.


Promptness

Reviewers who feel unqualified to evaluate a manuscript or are unable to complete the review within the required timeframe should immediately notify the editor.


Confidentiality

Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents and must not be shared or discussed with unauthorized individuals.


Standards of Objectivity

Reviews must be conducted objectively and professionally.

Personal criticism of authors is inappropriate.

Reviewers should provide constructive feedback supported by clear academic arguments.


Acknowledgment of Sources

Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited and notify editors of substantial similarity between the manuscript under review and any previously published work.


Disclosure and Conflict of Interest

Reviewers must not use information obtained during peer review for personal advantage.

Reviewers should decline review assignments when conflicts of interest exist due to competitive, collaborative, institutional, financial, or personal relationships.


Duties of Authors

Reporting Standards

Authors must present accurate, honest, and objective accounts of their research.

Research findings should be reported clearly and transparently, with sufficient detail to allow replication where appropriate.

Fraudulent or intentionally inaccurate statements constitute unethical behavior.


Data Access and Retention

Authors should be prepared to provide research data supporting their findings when requested by editors.

Authors are responsible for maintaining research data and ensuring reproducibility whenever applicable.


Originality and Plagiarism

Authors must submit entirely original work.

All manuscripts submitted to AJMS may be screened using plagiarism detection software.


Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publication

Authors should not submit the same manuscript simultaneously to more than one journal.

Publishing substantially similar research in multiple publications without proper justification is considered unethical.


Acknowledgment of Sources

Authors must properly acknowledge all sources that contributed to the development of their research.

Authorship and Contributorship
